Adamawa State University, Mubi is Seeking University Librarian

Since 2002, when Adamawa State University, Mubi was established, the Institution has been striving to meet the stated goal of providing “Education for Development”. We are  recruiting to fill the position below:

 Job Title: University Librarian

Location: Mubi, Adamawa

Job Description

• The Librarian is the Chief Administrative Officer of the University Library and shall be responsible to the Vice Chancellor for day-to-day administration and coordination of all Library services in the University.

Qualities of the Applicant for the Post
Applicants should possess the following qualities:

• Must not be less than a Deputy Librarian or its equivalent in a University
• Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Library Science/Library Information Science from a recognized University.
• Applicants must have had at least Fifteen (15) years of post-qualification experience in Librarianship; Ten (10) years must have been in University administration.
• Applicants must be of sound physical and mental health.
• Applicants must be persons of high integrity and unquestionable character.
• Applicants must belong to a recognized relevant professional body.

Tenure

• The appointment shall be for a single term of five (5) years only.

Age limit:

• Eligible candidate should not be more than 60 years old at the time of assumption of office.

Condition of Service

• Salary and allowances shall be as applicable to the post of University Librarian in Nigerian Universities.

• Extra-curricular activities and interests;
• Professional and academic/administrative achievements; and

All referee letters are to reach the Registrar not later than six (6) weeks from the date of this publication.
