The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued an official notice for the Anambra State governorship election scheduled to hold on November 8, 2025, in compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act.
INEC’s Public Relations Officer in the state, Mrs. Ugomma Lechukwu, announced this while briefing journalists on Sunday in Awka.
“The INEC notice of poll is in accordance with the sections of the Electoral Act, 2010 (as amended). Notice is hereby given that election to the office of the governor of Anambra State shall be held on November 8, 2025,” she stated.
Lechukwu explained that voting would begin at 8:30 a.m. and end by 2:30 p.m., adding that each voter would cast their ballot at the centre where they registered.
She emphasized that only individuals whose names appear on the register of voters and who possess valid voter’s cards would be eligible to participate in the exercise.
No fewer than 16 candidates are expected to contest in the governorship election, comprising 14 males and 2 females.
