COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT  (120 Positions)

Multi-Aid and Charity Initiative (MACI) is pleased to announce an open recruitment for Community Volunteers across six Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Borno and Yobe States.


POSITION: Community Volunteer

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 120 (20 per LGA)
JOB LOCATIONS:

  • Borno State: Monguno, Damboa, Mobbar
  • Yobe State: Jakusko, Bade, Potiskum

ABOUT MACI:

Multi Aid and Charity Initiative (MACI) is a non-profit humanitarian organization committed to advancing equality, protecting human rights, and supporting children, women, and vulnerable communities. Since 2020, MACI has been implementing impactful projects across the BAY states in collaboration with key humanitarian actors.

MACI’s core focus includes:

  • Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention and Response
  • Protection and Community Mobilization
  • Financial Inclusion and Foundational ID (NIN, BVN, Account Opening)
  • Women and Youth Empowerment
  • Child Protection and Girl Child Education
  • Livelihoods, Food Security, Nutrition
  • Sexual and Reproductive Health Education

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Community Volunteers will play a critical role in supporting MACI’s Foundational ID and Financial Inclusion Project, implemented in collaboration with WFP, NIMC, Partner Banks, and other stakeholders. Their support will help ensure that vulnerable individuals—particularly women, the elderly, and persons with disabilities—are effectively reached and included in the following key activities:

  • National Identification Number (NIN) enrolment
  • Bank Account Opening
  • Bank Verification Number (BVN) Generation

Volunteers will provide hands-on support in the following focus areas:

1. Community Mobilization & Sensitization

  • Mobilize and engage community members to participate in NIN, BVN, and account registration exercises.
  • Disseminate accurate, culturally information on foundational ID and financial services.
  • Educate community members on the required documents and benefits of financial inclusion.
  • Work with local leaders to encourage trust and participation, especially from underserved groups.

2. Crowd Control & Queue Management

  • Maintain order and manage large gatherings during enrolment activities.
  • Ensure safety and enforce fair participation by prioritizing vulnerable individuals (e.g., elderly, women, persons with disabilities).
  • Prevent overcrowding, support clear directional flow, and manage designated waiting areas.

3. Data Collection & Reporting

  • Collect basic data on attendance, enrolment progress, and beneficiary challenges using MACI’s templates/tools.
  • Assist in compiling daily activity logs, feedback forms, and attendance sheets.
  • Submit timely reports to supervisors on field-level activities and emerging trends or issues.

4. Beneficiary Support

  • Support community members during the enrolment process by guiding them through the steps.
  • Help resolve simple documentation issues or refer complex ones to supervisors.
  • Identify and report special protection needs or cases requiring urgent attention.

5. Communication & Coordination

  • Serve as the link between the community and MACI’s field staff.
  • Relay beneficiary concerns, complaints, and suggestions using appropriate feedback channels.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure efficient coverage of assigned locations.
  • Ensure all humanitarian principles and MACI’s Zero Tolerance policy on Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA).

REQUIREMENTS:

Education   Minimum of ND, SSCE/NECO or equivalent.
Experience   Prior experience in community engagement or volunteering is an asset.
Language  English, Kanuri and Hausa Languages
Indigene Must be Indigene and reside in the respective LGA of application.
Competencies  Commitment to MACI Principles, Behavioral Flexibility, Stress Management, Results and Quality Orientation, Teamwork and Cooperation, Service Orientation.
