Job Title: Head, Strategic Finance/Financial Controller
Location: Lagos
Grade:Deputy General Manager
Industry:FMCG (Manufacturing)
Objective
The Head, Strategic Finance/Financial Controller leads financial control, statutory reporting, accounting, treasury controls, tax compliance, and financial governance, ensuring accurate IFRS-compliant reporting, regulatory compliance, strong controls, asset protection, and effective decision support.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Execute monthly, quarterly and annual close process and provide standards compliant reports.
- Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and compliance.
- Manage all reporting requirements, policies and procedures
- Plan, organize and lead reporting activities
- Oversee the consolidated financial closings, special transactions, local currency and functional currency accounting processes.
- Liaise with divisional heads of Finance for unusual transactions
- Liaise with External Auditors and other stakeholders for
- compliance and reporting related activities.
- Responsible for ensuring that new Oversee application of accounting pronouncements.
- Takes ownership of the Company’s Group Consolidations and accounting process and policy manual.
- Provide dynamic leadership to the accounting team.
Qualification / Experience
- B.Sc. Accountancy, (MBA/MSc is an advantage)
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record in FMCG sales, preferably within food and beverage or manufacturing sectors.
- Relevant professional certifications (FCA, FCCA, ACTI).
Skills
- Strong Regulatory proficiency.
- Processes control proficiency.
- Strong Reporting skill.
- Proficiency in accounting applications & accounting standards.
- Good communication and Interpersonal relation
- ERP Knowledge.
